Weak vessels made solid

WHATEVER trial or tribulation you face today, stand firm.

We live in trying days, troublesome times. The enemy comes out in full force against us.

It’s pointless, we’re all doomed — the devil whispers — protect yourself and let the world burn.

Satan tries to tell us that hope is dead, and all that matters now is decadence, power, and self-preservation.

Many celebrate these lies. Many bow down to the evil one and worship at his hellish altar.

They do not know the Lord. They do not hear his voice.

But you have heard the voice of the Lord.

You have come to believe in the One that saves.

So stand firm now in the breach.

You are part of the cornerstone, the lynchpin of salvation — you are a living agent of the Body.

If you have come to believe in the name of Jesus Christ, the Spirit of the Lord dwells within you.

Never underestimate this.

Through his Spirit the universe came to exist, a Virgin gave birth, and the dead came back to life.

And though you are a weak vessel, a vulnerable sinner, the mighty Spirit of God lives within you.

He is the Spirit of Creation — the Spirit of the Resurrection and the Life.   

Do not let this make you haughty and proud. Instead, let the Lord tear down your insecurities and fears.

He releases you from the structures that keep you enslaved.

He frees you from your panic and dismay.

He installs in you fierce hope and sacred trust.

And these things give you great strength.

Do not fear the responsibility that comes with your place as a child of God. Instead, humble yourself before the Lord.

Grab hold of your faith with both hands and cling tight.

The storm will pass. The glory of the Lord will arrive.

Then Satan will flee before you. He will gnash his teeth and spew all kinds of vile hate against you. He will try to frighten you, ridicule you, and bring you down.

But you will not fall. The smoke will clear.

And you will remain steady and strong.

You have been raised up by the Chosen One, the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, from whom all good things come.

And you will join with other weak vessels who have been made solid in the Lord.

Together, his Body goes forth, to find the sick, the lonely, and the sinner

— to bring blessings and preach peace

— to deliver the Good News to all those who chose to hear and believe.

So Jesus cried out in the temple area as he was teaching and said, “You know me and also know where I am from. Yet I did not come on my own, but the one who sent me, whom you do not know, is true. I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me.”
