HOW LONG has it been? How long have you wandered in the wilderness?
Roaming. Seeking. Tired and lonely.
How long have you been pretending to live instead of truly living?
You’ve tried so long to figure it out on your own. Aren’t you weary? Aren’t you tired?
Don’t you hear your soul crying out, “Save me! Set me free!”
Why do you cling so tight to that which is dead?
Be not afraid of freedom. Be not afraid of life.
Come out of that place. Escape from your prison.
Release the fear that binds you.
It has no power over you.
You don’t have to do anything. You can’t.
Your heart is already broken, wide open.
A broken, repentant heart sings joyfully when Christ the Savior comes.
So come, taste and see.
Taste the Bread from heaven.
See the Light that saves.
His Spirit will bring you comfort.
No longer wandering, but home again.
No longer fearful, but free.
. . . . . . .
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
Psalm 51:17
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
