YOU KNOW the feeling.
All tight and tangled up inside. There’s lots of reasons.
Old wounds strap you down. And each day brings new trials.
You feel the tension. You carry the burden.
And you know if you let it all out you might just cry for days.
So you hold it in.
You walk the walk of responsibility. At least for appearances sake.
How long will this go on, all knotted and tangled up inside?
When will you find release?
There is a place.
The presence of God.
He can untie the knots, slowly, gently.
The Lord is kind and merciful.
So go there. Let down your guard and let him in.
Spend some time in his presence.
Your hands have been tied behind your back for too long. You can’t go on like this anymore.
You can’t work that way.
You can’t fight that way.
You can’t live that way.
You can’t love that way.
Rubbed raw from ropes pulled tight, let those places feel the fresh air.
Let those places breathe again.
The Lord promises he will deliver you.
Forgive you.
Heal you.
Set you free.
You get your life back again. This is his eternal promise.
As the ropes fall to the ground, you raise your hands up to praise Almighty God.
And then, you can move freely. You can take a deep breath.
And you can embrace someone.
You can tell them. Yes! It’s true.
The Lord is merciful and kind.
He did this for me.
And he can do this for you too.
And the tears will flow like a river.
Tears of joy as you soar free.
. . .
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
