The time is now

EVER GET DOWN and out in a bad negative mood? I do too sometimes.

Suddenly it seems like problems take over your entire life. And you just can’t shake it.

The world collapses in on you. You feel buried alive.

Maybe you smile on the outside, but on the inside you’re gloomy.

Have you ever felt this way? Who hasn’t? Who hasn’t experienced the struggle?

It’s time to snap out of it.

It’s time to change your mind.

Yes, there are problems. There’s lots to do, and life is complicated and tough. You’ve made mistakes.

But there is heaven too.

The enemy tries to shrink things down. He tempts you to focus on a pinpoint of worry. He wants to keep your mind occupied as you sit there cramped in a corner of anguish.

But the Lord opens your eyes to see the heavens.

He leads you to a spacious place. The big picture of salvation.

Never underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit to work dramatic changes in your mindset.

Turn to him and ask for this.

Ask to be given clarity and strength.

Ask to receive a spirit of hope and joy.

Ask to rise up with Christ to face the day with courage and confidence.

It’s not about being perfect or better than anyone else. Instead, you are solid in who you are as a child of God.

His love gives you confidence.

God’s love is not reserved for those who deserve it. His love is for those who have been broken — for those who yearn for restoration.

So rise up.

Get up, dust yourself off, and come out of your corner.

Hoist your cross and carry it with courage.

Count your blessings and be a blessing to others.

Do not hesitate.

Let God’s tenderness and grace come rushing in to fill your heart.

Give him room to work.

Breathe in deep the Spirit of God.

Let him widen your horizons.

Let him change your mind.

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 1:8-9

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
