The President of the United States has been infected by Covid-19. That statement alone is huge. May the Lord provide him, his wife, and his staff with healing of body, mind, and soul.

Faith is not a football game. It’s not a competition, but sadly many take it this way. They intimately link their politics with their faith. But faith in God isn’t about winning; it’s about giving and forgiving.
I see many Christians on the right AND the left completely confused about this. It’s a religious-political fanaticism that threatens people.
. . .
When we mold our faith to a political campaign, something sinister happens. In competitions, you’re more likely to approve—or turn a blind eye—when your team inflicts a dirty hit. In the end, winning comes at any cost. This is diametrically opposed to everything Jesus taught.
. . .
Brood of vipers! Corruption, legalism, hypocrisy, cronyism… these are the things we should reject. Always and everywhere.
. . .
The Christian faith is not a political or cultural war.
The Christian faith is a person.
. . .
Are you interested more in winning than in service? Political power is not God’s power. Is a campaign victory the god you seek? What drives you? Is it resentment or the desire to put someone in their place? Do you desire power? Control? Examine your heart.
. . .
I’m not saying politics don’t matter. But how much we make it matter says a lot about where we are in our spiritual journey. Jesus called out the sin of his own people. Call out sin where you see it. Call out unfair play and bias when you see it, especially on your own side. We must remove the speck in our own eye first.
. . .
Police have brutalized peaceful protesters. Rioters have blatantly embraced lawlessness. Malicious agendas exist on both sides. This is truth.
. . .
Follow the money. The US government allies with Saudi Arabia. Massive amounts of oil and weapons are continuously bought and sold. This has been going on since the 1980s and continues to this day. Radical, militant Islam is funded worldwide by Saudi Arabia. A tragic humanitarian crisis is happening now in Yemen due to this alliance.
. . .
Criticizing your government is NOT the same as hating your country. Only totalitarians say these things are equal. They rely on fear to keep you silent.
. . .
Religion can be distorted into a dangerous ideology. Then, like any other ideology, it can quickly morph into a superiority-based belief system. If you believe you are better, then any action can be excused and justified.
. . .
Bad religion and bad politics—these two things killed Jesus.
. . .
If Jesus was here today, he would never take part in any mob-like, ridicule chanting at a sporting event, in the streets, or at a political rally. He would never be in the stands of the Colosseum — he would be on the ground, bleeding for his faith.
. . .
The execution of Jesus was a crime hatched in the smoke-filled back rooms of religious and political power brokers who sent merciless thugs to do their dirty work. His crucifixion continues to this day.
. . .
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is our greatest truth. He lives and reigns in heaven. The victory has already been won. How does this impact your life?
Live the resurrection to the fullest now, today.
. . .
The world cannot ever give us the peace our souls cry out for. We must cling to God tenaciously, now more than ever. This does not mean inaction. It means seeing clearly what the Gospel message truly means.
Give. Love. Serve. Forgive. Obey God’s will. Not much else matters.
. . .
Focus on your relationship with God. Invest time and effort to nourish it. Seek his presence and let it transform you. You will need the strength and clarity for the times to come.
. . .
Let the Spirit lift up your spirit high above the troubles of this world. And may your feet be planted firmly on earth to carry your cross with courage.
. . .
Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:17-20
